Coastal Hike on the Old Wine Route – From Caniçal to Porto da Cruz

We start at the Levada do Caniçal, hiking up to Boca do Risco, where stunning coastal views await. From there, we follow a scenic and varied cliffside trail towards Porto da Cruz, where the ocean meets the mountains.

At the end of the hike, we visit one of the island’s three remaining sugar cane mills, and there’s time to relax by the seaside before heading back. A perfect blend of history, nature, and breathtaking landscapes!
