Pico do Arieiro – Eira do Serrado – Funchal – Caniço de Baixo

We drive along the south coast to the small coastal town of Santa Cruz. In Santa Cruz there is a small market for fresh fish, fruits and vegetables. We continue to Machico, where there is time for a break in the cosy city. Across Caniçal, Madeira’s only industrial and fishing port, we cycle to the most eastern point of the island, the Ponta de São Lourenço. The Eastern Cape offers a breath-taking view of the wild Atlantic in the north. Back in Machico we still have time for a swim in the sea before the transfer bus picks us up again.
