This walk takes you from the pilgrimage town of Monte to the Levada dos Tornos and later onto the Levada da Serra do Faial — passing through Paradise Valley (Vale Paraíso) among other places. Lush vegetation, sweeping views over the sea and over Funchal and Camacha accompany you throughout.

Route

Starting in the traditional village of Camacha, this route follows quiet paths and levada sections towards Monte. The hike combines forest scenery, local countryside and beautiful views over Funchal, finishing in one of Madeira’s most historic and charming mountain villages.
